Who We Are

Mara Stephens -OWNER

In Mara’s family, everything had a place and we all knew where items belonged. Kids were never late to school, lunches were always ready in the morning, dinner always prepared in the evening, laundry was labeled and folded, coats were always hung. There was a clear and easy system for everything and everyone in her family. Mara’s entire upbringing was about respecting one another by respecting our mutual and individual spaces. Being part of a large brood, everything was organized and had to be. There was no choice in the matter! Mara has spent her professional life connecting with people. Whether through social work, sign language interpreting, or acting. Mara has a deep ability to understand and relate to people’s emotional state and work with them to achieve their personal goals.

TEAM

Sarah Starglass also happens to be from a family of nine children. Through growing up in a kibbutz, Sarah really knows how to work collaboratively. She is a people person and gets why and how individuals may struggle with their “stuff”. Sarah is a wellness advocate and is focused on incorporating a healthy lifestyle to her work. In Sarah’s family since she was one of the oldest, it was left to her to organize all her siblings. She had to cook, set up lunches and help her mother get everyone organized. It was not an easy childhood growing up as one of the oldest but it made her the person she is today!

Barbara Anderson

Melissa Darling I’m a detail-oriented home organizer with a love for turning everyday objects into thoughtfully curated spaces. I live for the art of the zhuzh. Growing up, my family moved eight times in twelve years, and I watched my mother pack and unpack our home almost every year. No matter the space, she created warm, welcoming environments free of clutter. From an early age, we learned that less stuff leaves more space for joyful living. My varied work as an actor, realtor, maître d’, product stylist, and Airbnb host, has shaped my eye for design and functionality, while grounding my work in genuine hospitality. As a mom to two vibrant teenagers, I understand the challenges of maintaining an organized family home. I approach organizing as both a creative and practical process, helping clients create homes that feel calm, intentional, and uniquely theirs.

Katie Deedy A pattern designer by trade, Katie’s favorite spaces are rich in texture and color, with an orderly finish that’s all in the details. On the job you can find her carefully organizing kitchen spices, thoughtfully arranging favorite novels, or adding finishing touches to a personal vanity. Although she's tried to fight it, Katie comes to her drive for perfection honestly as the product of a long line of notoriously tidy Cuban women. This, along with her decades as a NYer, gives her a unique appreciation for the challenges of living in a small space, and the importance of making the most of each and every nook.
